You booked your venue, now what?

Updated: Feb 23, 2022

The hardest part is knowing where to start. But after your find your venue, then you have a better understanding of what you need vs. what they offer or include.

At The Barn at Willowynn, we have an open vendor policy, meaning, you can hire whatever vendor you like for your big day! The only rule we have for "outside vendors" is, they must carry liability insurance. This is such a big day for you and your fiance and we want to make sure that you hire a professional and they they are held to a higher standard when handling the one of the most important days of your lives.

Bartenders and Security officers are the only 2 vendors we require. Security will be hired for you based on your guest count. Tipsy Cowgirls is our bartending service and they can help you with everything from a boozy shopping list to a perfectly named cocktail. #blushingbride

So what's next? Here's a list of types of vendors, in order, you will definitely need for your day:

  1. Event Coordinator - Can help you find GREAT vendors and has great tips

  2. Photographer/Videographer -You will need engagement photos soon

  3. DJ - Books years in advance

  4. Caterer - Must have good food!

  5. Cake - Limited to how many they can do in one day

  6. Florist - Limited to how many they can do in one day

  7. Hair and Makeup Artist - Once you find someone you love, book them!

  8. Officiant - Do you have a friend that could do this?

Other vendors you might consider:

  1. Photobooth

  2. Calligraphy (Invitations or decorations)

  3. Decor rentals

  4. Limo/Car

  5. Accommodations

Like weddings, not every vendor is going to be the same, so it's important to find the one that works best for you and your fiance. I always suggest making sure you "click" with them so you know they understand exactly what you want. Zoom meetings are definitely a plus!

Obviously, dress shopping has to be the most fun part of wedding planning, right? Do this early on so that you have time for the dress to be shipped & fitted. Alterations can take a while! This might even be a good start to make it feel "really real"!

The wedding planning process is different for everyone, so don't worry if it's not all happening in this order. Your coordinator can help you get a good checklist or wedding planning book/binder to help keep it all in order.

The important part is that you are marrying your favorite person and this day will be amazing no matter what! YOU GOT THIS BABE!
